The suspension will need lowering if the correct overall look of the
Ferrari 355 is to be achieved. This has been factored into the design
of the car and hence we have modified the wheel arches so that the Kit
looks correct when lowered to the correct ride height. One consideration
here which applies to any car which is lowered is that that unless coil-over
suspension units are used, the overall ride will be harder than a standard
Toyota MR2.
Weight
When designing our Ferrari 355 replica body kit we wanted to ensure
that the kit was strong and durable whilst also wanting to ensure it
did not add a considerable amount of weight to the car. The kit weighs
approximately 80KG but when taking into account the body panels removed
from the standard car the net result is that it only adds approx 20
- 30KG which is the weight of a small child.
Heat Treatment
During the manufacture of GRP panels, some air could
become trapped between the Gel coat layer and the fibre glass layer.
These air pockets are invisible to the human eye and consequently can
only be removed with a heat treating process. A GRP panel should always
be put in a car oven before painting to put a stop to this happening.
We do this for you before you purchase any GRP products from us. This
process alone gives you piece of mind and will save you money in the
long run.
Direct Sun Light Heats the Panel:
Any trapped air expands causing bubbles

Panels
If you purchase a body kit where the panels have not been treated
in this way the problem would not necessarily show itself until after
you had finished the car. The sunlight heats the panels which in turn
causes any trapped air to expand and produce bubbles in body work.
